Sarah was predeceased by her parents, Thomas Joseph Reilly, Sr. and Mary McPhillips Reilly. She is survived by her three brothers, Thomas J. Reilly, Jr. of Norfolk; Brian M. Reilly of Waltham, MA; Charles V. Reilly of Charleston, WV and one sister, Mary E. Reilly of Beverly, MA. In addition, Sarah leaves numerous relatives from both the Reilly and McPhillips families as well as friends in both Richmond and Norfolk. Sarah was born on May 1st, 1957 in Norfolk. She attended Blessed Sacrament School and Norfolk Catholic High. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1979 with a degree in Sociology and went on to earn a certificate in computer science. She began her career as a Systems Programmer at Dominion Virginia Power. After leaving Dominion, she spent 26 years as a CICS Systems Programmer at Bank of America. Sarah had recently retired and was looking forward to having more time to read, garden, walk and enjoy her new cat, Opie. Sarah loved her companion animals-Duffy, Dylan and Toodles and her recent adoptee, Opie. She also enjoyed spending time in Virginia Beach with family and friends and typically spent her vacation at the beach. While at Dominion Power, Sarah volunteered in the Lunch Buddies mentoring program. She became quick friends with her 7 year old buddy, Iris, and remained her friend and mentor well into Iris' adulthood. Sarah will be sorely missed by all for her humor, quick wit, intelligence and sense of moral justice. A funeral mass will be said in her honor on Friday, October 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery. H.D.
