"Larry" Remmie, 65, of the 9200 block of Coleman Ave., died Sept. 17, 1993, in Norfolk. Mr. Remmie was born in Mahnomen, Minn. He had retired from C&P Telephone Co. after 33 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was very active in the ministry of hospitality. He was a member of Legion of Mary; Knights of Columbus, Council 3548; Telephone Pioneers of America; and VFW Post 3160. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Remmie; three daughters, Linda S. Horan of Norfolk and Diane E. Sedlak and Nancy L. Evans, both of Chesapeake; two sons, Michael J. Remmie of Virginia Beach and Randy S. Remmie of Chesapeake; his mother, Ruth Horelson of Mahnomen, Minn.; five sisters, Dorothy T. Remmie of Vancouver, Wash., Joy Flaethan of Elgin, Ill., Judy Lehner of Two Harbors, Ill., Mary Carter of California and Doreen Jirik of Minnesota; two brothers, Larry Remmie of Mahnomen, Minn. and Harry McDonald of Minnesota; and 10 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church by Father Lou Ruoff. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. A Rosary service will take place at the church Monday from 6:30 to 6:45 p.m. The family and friends will gather at the church Tuesday at 10 a.m. for a prayer service before proceeding to the cemetery.
