She was raised in a proud Irish Catholic family with her late brothers James, Matthew (Marie), and Edwin Higgins and his twin Matthew. She met a sailor, Eugene N. Reynolds, while his ship was in the Brooklyn Shipyard, and he became the love of her life and husband of 69 years. They married and moved to Norfolk, VA, where they raised their family. She was the proud, loving and wonderful mother to Eugene “Zeke” (Tamie), Patricia, Matthew (Lynne), Kathleen Reynolds, and Kelly (Seth) Hill. She loved the blessing of being Grandma to Leah (Mike) Reynolds Wyand, Nicole (Lyle) Joyner, Amy Lynne (Joseph) LaMontagne, Donald “Donnie” (Abbey) Ward, Eli Hill, Barry Lanier, Kristen (Jonathan) Sanders, and Karen (Steve) Jaroma. Her 11 great- grandchildren were the joy of her life. Pat is also survived by her beloved sister-in-laws, Angela Higgins, Shirley Choate, and Judy Choate and many nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by parents-in-law, Tom & Beulah Choate and sister & brothers-in-law L’Lue (George) Thurman, Margie (LD) Fowler, Homer Choate, Ollie Choate, and Irene (Ronny) Rumsey. Her home was always the place for her children and grandchildren to spend time with their friends when growing up, and she loved having a full house. She was a proud Navy wife and best room mom, team mom, and scout mom ever. If it needed being done, she got it done. Her door was always open to all her friends with a piece of cake and a cup of tea for a good laugh, and an ear to listen or help in any way she could. Pat was a longtime member of St. Pius X Church and volunteered her time there. She also volunteered at Norfolk Public Schools for many programs. Pat and her husband also spent many years volunteering at the South Hampton Roads Food Bank helping to feed the hungry. She will be dearly missed by her family and so many others she opened her home and heart to. The family invites you to celebrate Pat’s life with them at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 8464 Tidewater Dr., Norfolk, VA 23518, on February 9, 2024, from 6pm to 8pm. They also invite you to attend a funeral mass held in her honor at 11am on February 10, 2024, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7800 Halprin Dr, Norfolk, VA 23518, with a reception following the mass in the parish hall.
