The Virginian Pilot Wednesday November 9, 1988
John Leslie Rhodes, 72, of the 300 block of Waters Road, a retired civil servant, 
died Nov. 7, 1988, in his home.
Mr. Rhodes, a native of Chuckatuck, Va., was the widower of Nettie H. Rhodes.  He 
was a member of Oakland Christian Church.  He was an Air Force veteran of World 
War I.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Mary M. Haddon of Hartfield, Va. and a stepson, 
John McCarris of Portsmouth.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Riverside Cemetery, 
Norfolk, by the Rev. Henry V Napier.  Twiford's Colonial Chapel is handling 
arrangements.
