Watts Rhodes, of 837 Marshall Ave., died Thursday at 6:30 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Washington and Mrs. Albean Ponton, and a native of Weldon,NC. She had lived in Norfolk more than 50 years. She was a former member of Queen Street Baptist Church. Surviving are one son, Percy Rhodes of Norfolk; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Clemmons of South Norfolk, and a granddaughter, Miss Ruth Clemmons, also of South Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted at the Hale Funeral Home Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the family plot in Calvary Cemetery.
