VIRGINIA BEACH — Edward Robert Rice, 32, of 5301 Count Turf Road, a native of 
Louisville, Ky., and a resident of this area for many years, died Wednesday in a 
Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Rice had been in the construction business for 15 years. He was a member of 
St. Pius X Catholic Church. He had attended Norfolk Catholic High School, 
Kempsville High School and Fork Union Military Academy.
Survivors include his mother, Winifred Fox Rice; his father, retired Lt. Col. 
Leonard R. Rice; and a sister, Winifred R. Rampey, all of Virginia Beach.
A joyful Mass of the resurrection will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday in H.D. 
Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
A Christian Wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
