The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark May 6, 1938

Mrs. Sallie Orrick Richardson, wife of Hubert L. Richardson, died at the 
residence, 261 East Thirty-Ninth Street, yesterday morning at 7:35 o’clock 
after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Charles Nevins and Mrs. 
Caroline Irvine Bain, and was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk.
Surviving Mrs. Richardson, besides her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. George 
R. Norris and Miss Elizabeth Richardson; a son, James Dudley Richardson; a 
sister, Mrs. Annie Burgess; four grandchildren, William H. Norris, Jr., 
Elizabeth Lee Duncan, Anne Duncan and Jean Norris, and several nieces and 
nephews, all of Norfolk.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Derry 
Funeral Chapel, Colley and Harrington Avenues, by the Rev. W. Taylor Willis, 
rector of Christ and St. Luke’s Church. Burial in Cedar Grove.
