The Rev. Thomas Sidney Richter, 79, died suddenly Wednesday morning at 7:30 
o’clock.  He was a native of New Orleans LA, and had lived in Norfolk more than 
60 years.  He was an elder of Holy Temple Church.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Florence Woodhouse, Mrs. Goldie 
Stevenson, both of Norfolk;  Mrs. Margaret Smith and Mrs. Constance Spencer of 
Washington, DC;  two sons, Alvin T. Richter of Norfolk, and Thomas Richter of 
New York City;  sixteen grandchildren;  also a step-daughter, Mrs. Beatrice 
Fonville, who resided with him and several other stepchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at Holy Temple Church, Chapel street, 
following morning service, with the Rev. Paul Bradley officiating.  Burial will 
be in Calvary Cemetery with King Funeral Home in charge.
