Norfolk - Mrs. Daisy T. Ricks of 2349 Ballentine Blvd, a native of Norfolk 
and the daughter of Amos and Mrs. Frances Taylor Ricks, died August 12 in 
Leigh Memorial Hospital.


She was retired from the Norfolk public school system and a member of New 
Calvary Baptist Church. She was a graduate of St. Pauls College, 
Lawrenceville, and held a master’s degree from Columbia University. She was 
a member of the Education Association of Norfolk, Virginia Education 
Association, National Education Association, and Alpha Phi Lambda.


Other survivors include her stepmother, Mrs. Winnie Mae Ricks of Norfolk; a 
stepsister, Mrs. Adell Brinkley of Norfolk; a brother, Edward Lee Ricks of 
Norfolk; two aunts; an uncle; and a number of cousins.


A funeral was held August 16 in Graves Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Hilton C. 
Felton. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
