NORFOLK - Charlie Ricks Sr., 79, of 1548 Virginia Beach Blvd. died Wednesday in 
a hospital.

A native of Suffolk, he was a son of James and Mrs. Margaret Ricks and the 
husband of Mrs. Merler Ricks.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Charlie Ricks Jr. and James W. 
Ricks, and three daughters, Mrs. Alma Brooks, Mrs. Maude Williams, and Miss Ruth 
E. Ricks, all of Norfolk.

A funeral service will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Wesley Union A.M.E. Church 
by the Rev. Karey Johnson Jr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
