Funeral services of Mr. Churcher Ricks, son of Mrs. Eliza Ricks, who died in New
York City, October 17, 6:20 p.m., were conducted Sunday afternoon, October 21, 2
p.m., at the residence of his mother, 94 Gordon avenue, Norfolk, VA. Rev. M. D.
Smith, D.D., pastor of the Metropolitan A. M. E. Zion Church, officiated. The
services were largely attended and there were many beautiful flowers. Madame
Maud Claiborne sang Nearer my God to Thee. Among the flower designs from the
following: Mr. Eugene Carter, C. S. Barney and James Sessoms, of New York; Mr.
and Mrs. George H. Wilson, Mr. Isaiah Connors, Mrs. Mary Knight, Mrs. Lugenia
Connors, Misses Mary Baines and Beatrice Conts. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Jack Walker, William Jackson, Ralph Osbourne, and Jerome Pitt.
The family also wish to thank their many friends for the sympathy and the
beautiful floral designs.
