The Norfolk Virginian Pilot January 18,1955
Mrs. Georgia Ballard Riddick, retired school teacher, of 866 Ashbury Street, 
died Saturday in a Norfolk hospital after a long illness.

A native of Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Matilda M. 
Ballard. She taught in Salisbury MD, before coming to Norfolk, where she had 
taught in public schools for 29 years before her retirement last year on account 
of ill health. She was a member of St. John’s A.M.E. Church.

She is survived by two brothers, Cornelius Ballard, of Suffolk, and John 
Ballard, of Norfolk, and one sister, Miss Mary E. Ballard, of Norfolk.

Funeral services will be conducted in St. John’s Church today at 3 p.m. Burial 
will be in Calvary Cemetery.
