Willie Anderson Riddick of 722 Clay avenue was given final rites Thursday in
Metropolitan AMEZ Church with the Rev. Richard A. Councill officiating.  Burial
was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.

A South Mills, NC, native, Mr. Riddick was a son of Luke Riddick and Mrs.
Courtney Riddick and the husband of Mrs. Priscilla Riddick.  He died Monday in a
hospital after a short illness.

He retired from International Longshoremen’s Association after 48 years.

Other than his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Mercer of
Norfolk and and Mrs. Beulah Leverson of New York;  two brothers, Heziah Riddick
of New York and James Riddick of Hempstead, Long Island, NY.,  a sister, Mrs.
Emma McGawar of Norfolk;  three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
