Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark  September 4, 1913
The funeral of Mrs. Lydia Riggs was held at the residence, 1419 Brambleton 
avenue, at 5 p.m. yesterday and was largely attended.  There were many 
beautiful floral tributes.  The service was conducted by Rev. Reuben 
Meredith of St. Peter's Episcopal church.  The interment was in Elmwood 
cemetery.
The following were the pall-bearers: R.L. Breeden, W.C. Turner, F.L. 
Stewart, L.R. Bartholomew, Charles Jackson, Mr. Addison and John Walters.
The deceased was the widow of Reilly Riggs and was a native of Camden, N.C., 
but had been a resident of Norfolk forty-four years.  Her death occurred on 
Tuesday.  She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. R.E. Bayto and a sister, Miss 
Bettie Fulton, both of Norfolk, and several grandchildren.  She was well 
known and highly esteemed in this city.
