Virginian Pilot December 15, 1957

John Joseph Riley, 73, husband of Mrs. Grace C. Riley and son of the late 
Bernard and Mrs. Mary McCarty Riley, died at 12:20 p.m. yesterday at a Norfolk 
hospital.
Mr. Riley was a native of Holyoke, Mass. and had been a resident of this section 
for seven years, residing at Bayside (Ocean Park) at the time of his death.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one sister, Miss Julia Ann Riley, also of 
Bayside. 
The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to St. Pius X 
Catholic Church for funeral services tomorrow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. 
Mary's Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the funeral apartments tonight 
at 8 o'clock.

RILEY JOHN JOSEPH - At a local hospital Saturday, December 14, 1957, at 12:20 
p.m., JOHN JOSEPH RILEY, husband of Mrs. Grace C. Riley and son of the late 
Bernard and Mrs. Mary McCarty Riley, in the 74th year of his age. Remains will 
be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial avenue, to St. 
Pius X Catholic Church for services MONDAY MORNING at 11 o’clock. Friends of the 
family are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery.
