Norfolk Virginian Pilot Saturday October 12, 1940
Miss Catherine Roach, aged 84, of 2723 Marlboro avenue, Chesterfield 
Heights, died yesterday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock at the home of her 
sister-in-law, Mrs. E.G. Roach, of Hickory, Norfolk County, after a brief 
illness. A native of Norfolk County, Miss Roach was the daughter of Jacob 
and Catherine Price Roach. Surviving her are several nieces and nephews. She 
was a member of the Chesapeake Avenue Methodist Church, South Norfolk and 
was well known and highly esteemed in the county.
The body was taken to the Graham Funeral Home, Jackson and Jefferson 
streets, South Norfolk where funeral services will be conducted tomorrow 
afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Burial will be in the family plot in Magnolia 
Cemetery.
