Oliver Funeral Apartments July, 2022 Ida Ruth Fantone Roberson (Bootie) was born on March 9, 1937, in Norfolk, Virginia. Bootie (named so by her brother Joe Jr.) was the last of six children of Joe and Dorothy Fantone. After graduating from Norfolk Catholic High, she married Henry Crawford Roberson Jr. Bootie had a long career in local finance as office manager, bookkeeper, and tax preparer. She never retired. Always active, Bootie bowled, played tennis, skied, and hiked. She loved cruises, NYC, fine red wine, fancy restaurants, and partying with her friends. She always said, “Be the first to arrive and the last to leave so they can’t talk about you.” Her energy and joy was a natural attractant. She leaves three children: Sharon Boudreau and Jim, Henry Roberson and Dawn, and Keith Roberson, who lived with her, allowing her to feel safe and loved in her own home. She leaves four grandchildren: Allison, Ethan, Tayler and Jordan, and Chad’s wife Ashley. Momo loved her five great-grandchildren, Lilleya, Stuart, Gus, Landon, and Ember. Left in her absence are best friends Beverly and Bernie, a huge extended family, and scores of clients who became friends. On Monday, July 18, 2022, Bootie left for Heaven. Waiting for her was her husband, Henry (Bootsie) Roberson, her truly one and only love; in the 20 years since he left she never desired another, though many desired her. Her beloved grandson, Chad Roberson who left barely six weeks before her, was most likely the first to greet her as she arrived. Her parents, her five sisters and brother, were also there to greet her and help her adjust to a beautiful new life. We will celebrate the life of Bootie Roberson at King’s Grant Presbyterian Church on Thursday August 11, at 11:00 a.m. Her favorite colors were pink and white. Please consider wearing these colors to honor her on this day. The burial will be private.
