Miss Lucy Roberts, Once Deputy Court Clerk, Dies at 82

Lucy Barry Roberts, 82, daughter of Roy and Mrs. Jane Ney Roberts, died 
yesterday at 4 a.m. at a Norfolk hospital.
Miss Roberts, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, retired in January, 1945, as 
deputy clerk of the Norfolk City Corporation Court, after 41 years of service. 
She resided at 1620 West 48th Street.
She is survived by the following nephews and nieces, Roy P. Hendy, Mrs. Raymond 
L. Ives, Charles O. Santos, Paul Santos, Ernest A. Morgan, Mrs. George Farrar, 
and Mrs. Howard Goshorn, all of Norfolk, and John Carl Morgan, of Alexandria, 
Va.; and great nieces, Miss Martha Denver Hendy, and Miss Patricia Ney Hendy, 
of Norfolk.
The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church, for funeral services tomorrow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the funeral apartments, 
Friday at 7:30 p.m.
