Virginian Pilot, Sunday, July 10,1938
W. Watson Roberts, aged 57 years, husband of Mrs. Regina Marriott Roberts, and
son of Leonard P., and the late Mrs. Ruth Jordan Roberts, died at 5:10 o’clock
yesterday morning at the residence, 748 Graydon Park.  Mr. Roberts, a native and
life-long resident of Norfolk, was a member of Freemason Street Baptist Church,
the Masonic fraternity, Shrine, and B. P. O. Elks.  Besides his wife, Mrs.
Regina Marriott Roberts, he is survived by one daughter, Miss Esther M. Roberts,
his father, Leonard P. Roberts, three sisters, Mrs. Eugene L. Graves, and Mrs.
Milton B. Ames, all of Norfolk, and Mrs. S. B. Moore, of Portsmouth, three
brothers, L. P. Roberts, Jr., of Norfolk, H. H. Roberts, of Miami, Fl., and L.
S. Roberts. of Sheffield, Al., and a number of nieces and nephews.  Services
will be held at the chapel of the H. D. Oliver funeral apartments, 1501 Colonial
avenue, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, with the Rev. Sparks W. Melton,
D.D., pastor of Freemason Street Baptist Church, officiating.  Interment will be
in Elmwood Cemetery.
