Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, December 6, 1990 
Roberta E. Robertson, of the 900 block of Lexington St., a retired secretary,
died Dec. 3, 1990, in a hospital.

Mrs. Robertson, a Norfolk native, had retired after 30 years and had worked for
the Amalgamated Union and the National Association for the Advancement of
Colored People. She was a member and deaconess of First Baptist Church-Bute
Street. She was a member of the NAACP, Order of Eastern Star 20, Virginia Past
Daughters Rulers Council, I.B.P.O.W. Elks, Norfolk Temple 1 Elks and Lodge 4
Knights of Mount Olive. She was the widow of Robert D. Robertson.

Survivors include a niece, Barbara S. Foster of Chesapeake; and two nephews,
Edward H. Smith Jr. and Ernest L. Smith, both of Norfolk.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church-Bute
Street by the Rev. Robert G. Murray. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The
body will be placed in church at 11 a.m. Family and friends will assemble at
1:15 p.m. in Hale Funeral Home for the procession.
