The services, both at the house and grave in Elmwood Cemetery, were conducted by the Rev. B.D. Tucker, rector of St. Paul’s P.E. Church. The following gentleman acted as pall bearers: Col. Walter H. Taylor, Captain C. W. Wilson, Thomas R. Borland, C.A. Santos, Wm. R. Galt, James Y. Leigh, Col. A.W. Starke and John E. Doyle. Mr. Robertson was originally from Philadelphia, but for the greater portion of his life has resident in Norfolk, where both in business and private life his actions were marked by the strictest integrity. He was for many years the head of the house of Robertson & Branda, and was until the time of his death Consul for Spain, Portugal and Italy, though for a number of years, on account of infirmities, which confined him to his bed, his duties as Consul have been performed for him by proxy. At the time of his death Mr. Robertson was eighty- seven years old and therefore justly ranked as one of our oldest citizens.
