Robinson Widely Known in Furniture Business and in Fraternal Circles Richard Clarke Robinson, aged 70, died at his residence 745 Graydon avenue, yesterday morning at 3:20 o'clock after an illness of seven months. He was a native of Sussex County and had been a resident of Norfolk since 1902. He was the son of Richard Hill and Mrs. Sarah Bailey Robinson. For 50 years Mr. Robinson had been in the furniture business, his first position being with the William Habelston Company in Petersburg. Upon making his residence in Norfolk he was associated with H. Crockin and later with Meyers & Tabakin, retiring from the latter firm last March. He was member of the First Baptist Church. At the time of his death, Mr. Robinson was worthy president of Norfolk Chapter No. 1, Order of the American Puritans, and had been a charter member of the organization since it was organized in 1931 and was a very active worker. He was grand worthy second vice president of the Grand Chapter of Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Laurie Lewis Robinson; four sons, Bernard G., of Philadelphia, and Clyde, Thomas L. and Forrest Eugene Robinson, of Norfolk; four half-brothers, Austin W., of Greensboro, N.C., and Charles, Will and Prince Robinson, of Petersburg, two half sisters, Mrs. Enders Dickinson, Richmond, and Mrs. Waverly Williams, Petersburg; two nieces, Miss Lucia Neaves, Petersburg, and Mrs. Blanche Talley, of Suffolk; one nephew, Earnest Neaves, Petersburg, and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox Funeral Home, 631 Westover avenue, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery.
