Robinson of Rugby street, retired Norfolk & Western Railway employee, died June 19 at a local hospital following an illness of about 10 days. He was the son of the late John and Nancy Branch Robinson of Burkeville VA. When a young man he left home and went to Washington DC but soon thereafter found work in Norfolk as a railway brakeman with the N & W. He was later given a job as a watchman for the same company before retiring about five years ago. Funeral services were held June 22 at New Calvary Baptist Church of which the deceased was a member with the Rev. Samuel R. Wilson, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge. Survivors are: One brother, the Rev. Edward S. Robinson of Hillburn NY; one sister, Mrs. Lalia Greene, Newport News VA; three nephews and one niece of Hillburn NY, other relatives and many friends.
