Robinson of 2324 Lake avenue, Fayetteville, NC, a veteran of 25 year’s service, died Friday in Portsmouth after a short illness. A native of Norfolk, he was the husband of Mrs. Jean Robinson and a son of the late Eddie and Mrs. Carrie Robinson. He was assigned to Headquarters Company of the 5th Special Forces Group at Ft. Bragg, NC. He was a member of St. Mary’s Pentecostal Holiness Church, Norfolk. He was a former member of Progress Masonic Lodge 80 of Norfolk, a district deputy of the 12th Masonic District of Maryland, and a past master of James T. Dorsey Masonic Lodge 114 of Bad Kreumach, Germany. Besides his widow of Fayetteville, surviving are three sons, Matthew N. Robinson of Howard University, Washington DC, and Charles E. Robinson and Quintin L. Robinson of Fayetteville; two daughters, Vernitta Robinson and Valerie Jean Robinson of Fayetteville and two brothers, Jesse Robinson and Arthur Robinson of Norfolk. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 8, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Mary’s Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Graves Funeral Home, Norfolk in charge. The family will be at 2217 Courtney avenue, Norfolk.
