J. A. ROBINSON DIES SUDDENLY One Of Oldest Practicing Physicians In Norfolk And Native Of Petersburg Dr. John Albert Robinson, one of the oldest practicing physicians in Norfolk, died suddenly at his home, 206 West Freemason street, at 10 o'clock last night. He was 58 years old. Dr. Robinson was in his usual health at dinner, but became ill a few minutes after the evening meal and never rallied. He was a native of Petersburg, but came to Norfolk thirty-five years ago, shortly after his graduation from the University of Maryland, and has practiced his profession in Norfolk continuously since that time. Dr. Robinson is survived by a wife and two daughters, Misses Ellen Janvier and Louise Pintard Robinson. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. ************************************************************************ DOCTOR J. A. ROBINSON'S FUNERAL THIS AFTERNOON Was Native Virginian And One Of Oldest Practicing Physicians In Norfolk The funeral services of Dr. John Albert Robinson, who died suddenly at his home, West Freemason Street, last Tuesday night, will take place this afternoon at 3 o'clock at Saint Luke's Episcopal Church, with Rev. D.W. Howard, D.D., rector of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Dr. Robinson was born April 23, 1857, in Chesterfield County, Va. He graduated in medicine at the University of Maryland, 1883, and began the practice of his profession in this city November 7, 1883. He was twice appointed acting marine surgeon of this port. He was for several years president and physician to the Boy's Home and contributed generously to its support. He built up a good practice as well as a lucrative one. He was held in high esteem by all who knew him. He was a son of Rev. William M. and Caroline Lum Robinson. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Kearney Cushman Robinson; two daughters, Misses Ellen Janvier and Louise Pintard Robinson; three brothers, Judge E.S. Robinson, of Newport News; Walter M. Robinson of Williamsburg, Pa.; Milton S. Robinson of Richmond and a sister, Mrs. Walker Pugh of Williamsburg, Pa.
