Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, September 22, 1999 
Esther Mae ``Big Ma'' Robinson of the 3300 block of Kimball Terrace passed away
Sept. 17, 1999, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Born in Clarkton, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Margaret L. ``Mag''
Robinson and the late Charlie W. Robinson. She was a retired custodian and a
member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the
Pastor's Aide and Floral Club. She was also a member of Tidewater Park Garden
Club, Rose Social and Savings Club, Grandy Park Senior Citizens Club, Larkspur
Garden Club, Grandy Park, Salvation Army Home League, Federation Civil League
Youth Garden Club of Grandy Park and United Order of Tents Elmi Elizabeth No. 364.

Survivors include five daughters, Bernadette McLean, Hattie Washington and
Audrey Taylor, all of Norfolk, Betty Jacobs of Wheaton, Md., and Bertha Jones of
Portsmouth; a sister, Helen Johnson of Hampton; a brother, William Robinson of
Maryland; 35 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; one
brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews,
other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Antioch Missionary Baptist
Church by the Rev. Dr. I. Joseph Williams. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
The family will receive friends at 3368 Kimball Terrace. Community Funeral Home,
Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
