Norfolk Virginian Pilot Thursday June 24, 1948
G.T. Rock Dies; Paint Contractor

George Temple Rock, retired painting contractor, died yesterday at 6:30 a.m. 
at his home, 627 Georgia Avenue, Colonial Place.  He was 76 years old.
His death followed an illness of one year and failing health of several 
years.
Born in Middlesex County, he was son of the late Adolphus S. and Mrs. Eudora 
F. Hudgins Rock.  A resident of Norfolk for the last 57 years, he was a 
member of Elizabeth Camp Number Three, Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eva Bensten Rock; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby 
Rock McClellan and Mrs. Lucille Rock Early; four grandchildren, Mrs. Garnett 
Early Bratten, Mrs. Mildred McClellan Colonna, Temple Franklin Early and 
Harry A. McClellan, Jr., all of Norfolk; three great-grandchildren and 
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox Funeral Home Friday at 2 p.m.  
The Rev. P. Rowland Wagner, pastor of Central Baptist Church, will 
officiate.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
