Norfolk - Final rites were conducted for Mrs. Estelle Rodgers of 2326 Carey 
avenue, in Queen Street Baptist Church, Monday.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery 
with Citizens Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Rodgers was the widow of Sonnie Rodgers and a daughter of the late John and 
Mrs. Christine Jenkins.

A native of Smithfield, she was a former employee of Miles Oyster House and 
Seaboard Air Line Building.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Queen Ester Elliott of Norfolk and Mrs. 
Ruth Lumb of Columbus GA;  three brothers, John Robert Jenkins of Smithfield and 
Willie Jenkins and Burlie Jenkins of New York, and seven sisters, Mrs. Martha 
Tate, Mrs. Flora Shivers, Mrs. Christine Robinson and Mrs. Rosie Diggs of 
Smithfield, Mrs. Sarah Thompson of Newark, NJ, Mrs. Lulu Scott of Montclair, NJ, 
and Mrs. Lena Yellowday of Baltimore.
