The Lord saw fit to call Shawn Devon Rodgers home to be with him on Aug. 11,
1998. He was born in Norfolk, where he attended Norfolk Public Schools.

Shawn leaves to mourn him, his mother, Devorah Rodgers; his father, Larry
Matthews; stepfather, Howard J. Burton, all of Norfolk; two brothers, Larry E.
Rodgers and Christopher L. Rodgers, both of Norfolk; two sisters, Chaundaline
Rodgers-Fincher and Dawn M. Franklin, both of Norfolk; three children, Shaquille
Copeland, Shawnmique Copeland and Sha'Quoya Allen, all of Norfolk; a fiance,
Shannon D. Young of Chesapeake; a grandmother, Gertrude Matthews of Norfolk; a
grandfather, Clifton Matthews of Hampton; and a host of family members and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday in Calvary Cemetery ,
Norfolk. The family will receive friends at 819 Charlotte St., Norfolk, and will
meet at the cemetery at noon the day of the service. Viewing will be Thursday
from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
