Virginian Pilot  August 12, 1908

Mrs. Mary E. Rogers, wife of Jackson J. Rogers, passed away at the residence of 
her son-in-law, William Main, Colley and Fairfax Avenues, Kensington, at 6:30 
o'clock a.m. yesterday at the ripe old age of 81 years.
The deceased was born in Pennsylvania, but came to this section about seven 
years ago, where she had since resided.  She had many friends, who esteemed and 
admired her for her many Christian virtues and lovable traits of character.  The 
funeral will be held from the residence of Mr. Main at 10 o'clock this morning 
and will be conducted by Rev. George W. Cox of Burrows Memorial Baptist Church. 
The interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk.
