E. M. Phillips, of Petersburg, officiating. Mrs. Rogers, who lived at 915 Fremont street, died Friday after a long illness. She was a native of Brunswick County but had lived in Norfolk over 20 years. She was the widow of the Rev. Charles Rogers, an AME Zion minister. A member of the Independent Order of J. R. Giddings and the Jollifff Union of Tents, Petersburg, she also held membership at the Oak Street AME Church, Petersburg. Surviving are two sons, the Rev. Madison A. Bowe, of Philadelphia, PA; and Curtis P. Bowe, and one daughter, Mrs. Virginia B. Gill, both of Norfolk; and one brother, James Robinson of Kenbridge. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Riddick’s Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
