Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, December 27, 2001
NORFOLK - Emma J. Rogers of the 2900 block of Mapleton Ave., died Dec. 23, 2001.
Born in Hickory, Va., she was the widow of Herman Rogers.

She is survived by three daughters, Maxine L. Graves, Darlene R. Gilliam and
Dorothy R. Backus; four sons, Ralph Johnson, Benjamin L. Rogers, Stanley Rogers
and Angelo A. Rogers, all of Norfolk; 23 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren;
six great-great-grandchildren; an aunt, Mary Jane Bass; brother-in-law Edward
Rogers; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held Saturday at noon at Community Funeral Home, Norfolk
Chapel, by Bishop George N. Battle Sr. with burial in Calvary Cemetery .
