Norfolk - Howard M. Rollins Sr., the husband of Mrs. Bessie E. Rollins of 901
Philpotts Road, died Thursday, February 14 in a hospital.

A native of Norfolk, Rollins, a Realtor, had retired from the U. S. Postal
Service after 30 years. He was a graduate of Hampton University. He was a 40
year member of Grace Episcopal Church, where he served as a vestryman and
secretary of the Men’s Club. He was a member of the Chesterfield Club, the Chi
Beta Chi Club and the Hiawatha Beneficial and Social Club. He was a former
member of the board of directors of the Norfolk Postal Credit Union. Survivors
include two daughters, Helen R. Robinson of Catonsville MD and Mary R. Andrews
of Houston; a son, Howard M. Rollins Jr.,of Orange NJ; a sister, Rosa R.
Jeffreys of Philadelphia, and three grandchildren.

A funeral service was conducted on February 18 in Grace Episcopal Church by Rev.
Joseph M. Green. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Hale Funeral Home had charge.
