NORFOLK - Sophie Hajj Romanus, 84, of the 100 block of Beach Ave, died Dec. 18, 
1987, in Norfolk.
Mrs. Romanus, a native of Mount Lebanon, Syria, was the widow of Abdo Romanus. She 
was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Christ Child Association
Survivors include a son, John Romanus of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren; and 
three great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in Blessed Sacrament Catholic 
Church, Newport and Painter streets, by Father Julian B. Goodman. Burial will be 
in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary service will be held in H. D. Oliver 
Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, at 3 p.m. today. The family will be at 3532 Sandpiper 
Road. Virginia Beach, after the funeral. Memorial donations may be made to St. 
Mary’s Infant Home.
