Rose, a Confederate veteran, died yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock after an illness of several weeks, at her home, 83 Commerce street, South Norfolk. She was a native of North Carolina, but had been a resident of this section for 15 years. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Lillie Smith, Miss Jennie Rose, Mrs. Fannie Springfield, Mrs. Allen Sykes, Miss Jessie Rose and Mrs. Lucy Rountree. The funeral will take place at the above residence this afternoon at 4 o'clock and burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
