Virginian Pilot October 2, 1900

ROSE -  At the residence, No. 11 Shields Street, on Sunday, September 30th, 
1900, at 6:35 o'clock p.m., MATTIE L., daughter of J. Henry and the late 
Margaret A. Rose, aged 31 years and 4 months.
The funeral will take place from the First Presbyterian Church THIS (Tuesday) 
AFTERNOON at 3:30 o'clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend.

The funeral of this highly esteemed and deeply lamented young lady, who died at 
her home on Shields Street Sunday afternoon, was held from the First 
Presbyterian Church at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon and was largely attended. 
The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Edward Mack, D.D. There was a 
magnificent display of floral offerings. The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery. 
Following were the pallbearers: John Wilton, Joseph Brown, Ernest Cheatham, 
George D. Crow, Jacob Kraemer, Thomas Snow, Harry Oliver and S.V. Henelly.
Flower bearers - Charles H. Consolvo, Olla Egerton, Charles E. Wood and Charles 
Deas.
