Rose Sr., of the 1200 block of East Eva Blvd., died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on May 31, 2003. He was born in Norfolk to the late Harold Bartram and Dorothy Mae Rose. Mr. Rose graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and went on to serve four years in the U.S. Air Force. He later received a B.S. Degree in accounting from Norfolk State University. Kenneth retired after 32 dedicated years of service to Norfolk Truck Center. Mr. Rose is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Nettie R. Rose; three sons, Michael A. Royster of Chesapeake, Kenneth C. Rose Jr. and wife Monique of Dumfries, Va., and Keith C. Rose and wife Mathenia of Suffolk; two sisters, Beaulah Fitchett of Baltimore, Md., and Sgt. Major Rita G. Holmes (retired) of Lake Ridge, Va.; three brothers, Harold Bartram Rose and wife Bernice of Florida, Albert Rose of Norfolk and Webster Rose of Virginia Beach; three granddaughters, Janae' N. Eley, Kayla C. Rose and Kelis C. Rose; one great-granddaughter, Jada L. Eley; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and longtime friends. The homegoing celebration will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in New Galilee Baptist Church, Great Bridge Blvd., Chesapeake, followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery . Services will be officiated by the Rev. Dr. Anderson Foreman. Visitation will begin this evening. Family and friends will assemble at the residence at noon Thursday for a procession to the church. All tributes and correspondence may be directed to 1244 East Eva Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23323. Graves Funeral Home is in charge.
