Norfolk Virginian Pilot January 27, 1939

Miss Mary Boggs Ross, 17, daughter of Mrs. Mary Lydia Boggs Ross and John 
William Ross, died at 9:55 o'clock yesterday morning at a local hospital. Miss 
Ross, a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, was a senior in Maury High 
School. Besides her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandparents, Mr. 
and Mrs. W.A. Boggs, her paternal grandmother, Mrs. J.C. Ross; two brothers, 
John W. Ross Jr. and Thomas R. Ross all of Norfolk.
The body will be taken from the residence of her maternal grandparents, Mr. and 
Mrs. Boggs, 832 Duke Street, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for funeral 
services tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's 
Cemetery.
Rosary services will be held at the residence by the Children of Mary at 4 
o'clock this afternoon; by the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin at 8 o'clock 
tonight and by the Daughters of Isabella at 8:30 o'clock, all of Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church.

o’clock a.m., MARY BOGGS, daughter of Mrs. Mary Lydia Boggs Ross and John 
William Ross, in the 18th year of her age. Remains will be taken from the 
residence of her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Boggs, No. 832 Duke 
street, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for funeral services SATURDAY MORNING at 
10 o’clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary’s 
Cemetery.
