Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 17, at Hale’s Funeral Parlor 
for Maurice B. Ross who died in a Brooklyn hospital recently.  He had been ill 
for about ten years after leaving the army.  The Rev. J. B. Henderson, pastor 
of Bank Street Baptist Church, officiated.  He was assisted by the Rev. H. T. 
Myers, pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

He is survived by a wife, Mrs. Julia Ross, of Brooklyn NY;  his mother and 
father, Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Keeling, of Norfolk;  two sisters, Mrs. Nellie 
Oliver and Mrs. Shirley Johnson, both of Norfolk;  two brothers, James A. 
Winfield, of Norfolk, and Harry R. Whitfield, of Wildwood NJ, and other 
relatives.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
