Norfolk - Mrs. Mattie F. Ross of 1012 Anderson street died recently, she was the 
widow of John R. Ross.  A native of Norfok, she was a daughter of the late John 
and Mrs. Alice Carter Fisher.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute 
Street.  In New York she had been a member of Invincible Temple Daughter of Elks 
and New York Chapter, Lane Circle 2, Daughters of Norfolk and its Ladies 
Auxiliary.

Surviving are a brother, John L. Fisher, and a sister, Miss Laura H. Fisher, 
both of Norfolk.

A funeral service was held in First Baptist Church, Bute Street, by Dr. E. Paul 
Simms.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Graves Funeral Home in charge.
