Norfolk - Samuel Ross, of 3146 Schooley Ave. died Sept. 1, in a hospital.

A native of Norfolk, he was the husband of Mrs. Lucille E. Ross and a son of 
Mrs. Betty J. Ross. He was retired from Vepco. He was a member of First Calvary 
Baptist Church. He was a Marine veteran of World War II.

Other survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Ross of Norfolk; two step-daughters, 
Mrs. Mildred Murry and Miss Celestine Givens of New York City; a step-son, John 
Givens of New York City; a sister, Mrs. Marie Perry of Norfolk; a brother, John 
E. Ross of New York City; seven grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

A funeral was held Monday in Hale Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Jake Manley. Burial 
with full military honors was in Calvary Cemetery.
