Virginian-Pilot July 12, 1944
Rocco Rossano, 78, husband of Mrs. Marie A. Rossano and son of the late Nicholas 
and Mrs. Bridget Rossano, a native of Italy and a resident of Norfolk for the 
past 54 years, died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 6 o’clock. 
Besides his wife, Mrs. Marie A. Rossano, he is survived by five daughters, Mrs. 
J. Console, Miss Katherine Rossano, Mrs. A. J. Russo, Mrs. John Barkley and Mrs. 
Jack Gearhart, all of Norfolk; three sons, Daniel Rossano, of Norfolk; Arthur 
Rossano, of Portsmouth, and William Rossano, of Norfolk; 11 grandchildren and 
five great-grandchildren. The body will be taken from the residence, 318 West 
Princess Anne road, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, of which Mr. Rossano was a 
member, for funeral services Friday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in 
St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the residence Thursday 
night at 8 o’clock.
