He was retired from Naval Air Station and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point. Other survivors include four daughters, Joyce Johnson, Sheila Cox, Katrina Ross and Deborah Burton of Norfolk; three sons, Raymond Ross Jr. of Arlington and Gregory Ross and Raymond Gene Burton of Norfolk; two brothers, James Ross and Clarence Ross of Norfolk; and 12 grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point, by Dr. M. L. Williams. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with Hale Funeral Home in charge. The family will be at 1507 W. 41st St., Apt. B. The body will be placed in the church at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
