NORFOLK - Marie Ferratt Roughton of Painter Street died May 7, 2001, in DePaul 
Medical Center.
Mrs. Roughton was born in Norfolk, the daughter of the late Hunter Wallet and 
Marie Brannan Ferratt. She was the widow of James Edward Roughton. Mrs. Roughton 
had retired from the Circuit Court of Norfolk after 23 years of service.
Survivors include her daughter, Page Roughton Moore of Virginia Beach; two 
grandsons, Richard R. Moore IV of Maryland and James A. Moore of Virginia Beach. 
She is also survived by her closest friend, Graham Parker of Norfolk.
A graveside service will be conducted at noon Friday in St. Mary’s Catholic 
Cemetery by Father Thomas Quinlan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests 
memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk 
VA 23513. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
