Norfolk Virginian Pilot September 7, 1953

               A. G. Roughton, 52, Dies; Automobile Sales Manager

Augustus G. (Dick) Roughton, 52, sales manager for the Whitehorn Motor, Inc, 
died Saturday at 10:15 p.m. at his residence, 352 West 14th Street.
Husband of Mrs. Katherine Elizabeth Roughton, and the son of the late William 
Thomas and Mrs. Priscilla Mann Roughton, he was a native of Tyrrell County, N.C. 
and had made his home in Norfolk for 25 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, William Marvin Roughton; two 
daughters, Mrs. J.W. Davis and Mrs. Lee F. Lawler, all of Norfolk; four 
grandchildren; one brother, St. Clair Roughton of Hickory and a sister, Mrs. 
Dellia White, of Elizabeth City, N.C.
Services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments tomorrow at 2 
p.m. by the Rev. Floyd A. Leggett, pastor of the First Christian Church, 
Disciples. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
