The Norfolk Virginian Pilot July 20, 1942 
Mrs. Annie Holland Rountree, aged 67, wife of John H. Rountree and daughter 
of the late Robert and Mrs. Margaret Robertson Holland, a native of Gate 
County, N.C., and a resident of Norfolk for the past 45 years, died at her 
residence, 526 Massachusetts Avenue, yesterday morning at 8:25 o’clock, 
after a long illness. 
Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. E.H. Church, of 
Norfolk; two brothers, C.E. Holland, of Norfolk, and W.R. Holland, of 
Ahoskie, N.C.; two nieces, Mrs. W.G. Poyner and Mrs. Edward L. Fitzpatrick, 
both of Norfolk and two nephews, Robert H. Jarvis, of Baltimore and C.E. 
Holland, Jr., of Norfolk.
Mrs. Rountree was a member of Park Place Baptist Church.
The body will be taken from the Ewell & Williamson Funeral Home, Thirty-
Fifth Street at Colonial Avenue; to Park Place Baptist Church for funeral 
services tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock. The pastor, the Rev. Henry W. 
Tiffany, D.D. will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
