He was a son of Mrs. Ada and the late George Royster, and the husband of Mrs. Ruth Royster. He was a native of Norfolk. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and had been employed at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. The body was taken to the Pretlow Funeral Home. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by one daughter, Glenda Jean Royster, two sons, Walter L. Royster and Sheldon C. Royster; four sisters, Mrs. Connie Fare, Mrs. Mildred Smith, Mrs. Marion Smith, and Miss Shirley Royster; five brothers, George Royster, Earnest Royster, Melvin Royster, Herman Royster and Erwin Royster, all of Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Campostella, by the Rev. R. L. Harris, pastor. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
