The Virginian-Pilot; 11/07/1921 
 "Mrs. Emma J. Rudd, 72 years old, widow of Edward Rudd, and one of the well-
known women of Berkley, died last night at 7:40 o'clock at her home, 219 Lee 
street, after several weeks' illness. Mrs. Rudd was a native of Princess Anne 
County, but she had practically been a lifelong resident of Berkley.
 She is survied by four children--Mrs. A.H. Hudson, of Norfolk; Mrs. George 
Serrick, of Baltimore; Mrs. P.E. Price, of Dendron, Va., and R.B. Wood, of 
Chuckatuck, Nansemond County.
 The funeral services will be conducted at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2 
o'clock, private, and burial will be in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery.
