He was a son of the late William S. Rudd, town sergeant when Berkley was an integral part of Norfolk County and his mother was Sarah Virginia Petitt Rudd. He was the husband of Mrs. Ella Howard Rudd. Mr. Rudd retired from the Norfolk Navy Yard about nine years ago and disassociated himself with all activities after that time. In addition to his wife he is survived by three brothers, Willian S. Rudd, Jr., Walter G. Rudd, of Norfolk and Frank Rudd of Baltimore. The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Hone, Jackson and Jefferson streets, South Norfolk, pending funeral arrangements.
