Norfolk Virginian Pilot February 3, 1951


William Lamie Ruddick, Sr., 57, husband of the late Mrs. Veola Butt Ruddick and 
son of the late William and Mrs. Sallie Edwards Ruddick, died yesterday at 6:10 
p.m. at the residence, 2934 Cape Henry Avenue.
A lifelong resident of Norfolk, he was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church 
and Norfolk Lodge No.1. A.F. and A.M.
Mr. Ruddick was retired from the Norfolk Police Division after 32 years of 
service.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Miss Audrey Bell Ruddick, of 
Norfolk; four sons, Raymond R., William L., Earl R., and Leonard L. Ruddick, 
all of Norfolk; one grandson William L. Ruddick III, of Norfolk.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ewell and Williamson Funeral Home 
Sunday at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. H.H. Martens, rector of St. Peter's Episcopal 
Church. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
